Parking Summit: Navigating the New Downtown,
Wilmington, DE
With the residential population growing in Downtown Wilmington, the Mayor’s
Office and City Council organized a Downtown Parking Summit in March 2007 to
address growing concerns about parking downtown. The Summit’s two sessions
provided the City of Wilmington with the opportunity to work collaboratively with
neighbors, business owners, City-elected officials, and staff to identify parking
issues and propose solutions.
HFA worked with the Mayor’s Office and City Council to produce a cohesive
“Navigating the New Downtown” logo and a variety of print materials to advertise
the Parking Summit. HFA also led two workshop sessions by fielding questions,
documenting concerns, and discussing “best practice” parking solutions found in
other cities.
