Market Street Phase III Public Outreach,
Wilmington, DE

This is an on-going HFA project, where we provide a variety of outreach techniques to educate the business and residential community about the construction progress on the third phase of this streetscaping project. The Market Street Corridor, which defines Wilmington’s Central Business District, is currently undergoing repairs to property vaults, complete reconstruction of the roadbed, curbs, and sidewalks, and new landscaping, including pedestrian scaled lighting. Two intersections along the corridor are also being reconstructed and will have upgraded traffic signals. HFA develops and facilitates public information sessions, drafts bimonthly E-newsletters that reaches over 130 people, and distributes “frequently asked questions” about a variety of Market Street construction issues.

In 2005, HFA also provided similar outreach techniques during the water main construction, and gas main and service construction along Market Street, which were completed prior to the current streetscape construction.
