Frankford Arsenal Reuse Study,
Philadelphia, PA
Directed a multi-disciplined group of consultants through a year-long reuse study of the U.S. Army's 110-acre arsenal, located in Northeast Philadelphia. The property had buildings composing 2.5 million square feet of vacant floor space. A reuse plan was prepared for the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC), which recommended the reconstruction of all infrastructure, the reuse of some existing buildings, the demolition of others, and the creation of an urban waterfront park with boat access to the Delaware River. The project was subsequently sold to a private developer and has been converted into an industrial park that essentially conforms to the original recommendations.
