HFA was a consultant to the LMDC in the areas of public information and outreach associated with the redevelopment of the World Trade Center site and surrounding neighborhoods. During 2003, HFA provided services to the LMDC for three distinct events. For the site plan and the draft memorial program public hearings in January, HFA moderated some of the hearings outside of Manhattan and located moderators for the additional boroughs (report available here). In May, HFA moderated a public hearing with over 700 participants and the memorial design (an archived webcast is available here). Finally, HFA designed and facilitated a series of 7 neighborhood workshops in July and August. These workshops facilitated public input into funding priorities for community development projects in neighborhoods surrounding the World Trade Center site.
